A Vibrant Low Energy Future for Helston and District

What's New?

FOODGUIDE

Transition Helston would like to hear from any hotel, restaurant, b&b, cafe, pub or shop that sells food that is grown locally. We are writing a guide to local food covering the South Kerrier Area - south of Camborne and west of Falmouth promoting local food. Please contact us on foodguide@transitionhelston.org.uk if you would like to be included. Entry in the guide is free of charge and the guide is due to be published in the spring of 2010.

What are we about?

Transition Helston is a new, voluntary initiative set up to work within Helston and district to engage all sectors of our community in dealing with the twin challenges of Peak Oil and Climate Change These problems suggest a low energy future for all of us and we will need a resilient, capable community to deal with what lies ahead.
As a first step towards achieving this we are embarking on a programme of awareness rasiing, helping people to find out more about these problems. This process will also involve getting people to talk to one another and to start building social networks. We will be showing films and inviting speakers.
Interest Groups have started to formwith Food and Energy Groups actively underway. See their own pages for details of project activities.
